Relationships Australia wrapped up in White Ribbon Day

If you’re a woman and been the victim of violence in your lifetime, you are not alone.On White Ribbon Day violence against women is brought into the spotlight and Relationships Australia wants Territory women to know they can help.

The United Nations Declaration defines violence against women as any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivations of liberty, whether occurring in public or private life.

Forums on Childhood Trauma; Approaches to Working with Children and Families Experiencing Trauma in the Northern Territory

On the 22nd and 23rd of May Relationships Australia Northern Territory together with the Northern Territory Children’s Commissioner Howard Bath hosted two forums one in Darwin & the other Alice Springs. The forums aimed to consider the impact of trauma or toxic stress on children and their families, particularly in the NT. This was an opportunity to highlight some of the innovative and developing responses currently being delivered in the local context. Continue reading
